Week 1: Web Evaluation and Critics

We are required to find out 3 good website design and 3 bad website design and evaluate them base on their pros and cons, target audiences and purpose using our knowledge and skills developed in semester 1(typography/ design principles/ composition).

We are only allow to evaluate website from these 2 sources: http://www.webbyawards.com, http://www.thebestdesigns.com


Good Examples

  • Clean and clear landing page design
  • Information are well structured
  • Strong contrast colour scheme

  • Appropriate Visual element chosen- colour and leaf=ves to create beachy sense of Los Angeles

General Feedback:
As in overall, a good website must have a consistent design on different web page in terms of layout, colour and typeface. Content must be well structured, organized and try to be infographic. Images could be destroy the whole website even though there is a good design layout. User experience is the most important criteria, in order to achieve this, can try to enhance on engagement of the overall experience with music and controllable animation as well as "call to action".
