REFLECTION

Experience:

Before I came into this module, I felt very stress about publishing because it is something closely related to typography and Mr Vinod taught us in the previous semesters, kind of scared about sir haha. Ya but besides that, I also have an impression of publishing design is something very advanced and deep, I scare that I can't reach the minimum expectation or fail my own expectation. But when carefully going through this module, honestly, although quite challenging and scary sometimes, but when going on with exercise that breaks into smaller chunk each week, I was able to catch up step by step. This is important, I think Mr Vinod is really good at manipulating the work task and teaching process, making complicated things manageable and digestible (because there is lecturer make things complicated, not saying a bad thing but just maybe they have not much experience or feedback from students). Regardless, I enjoyed the module and the projects associated with this module. Although having slow computer in the beginning and it was not working in the middle and make me get a new one with no choice, this is the most enjoying module in this semester and most probably I learnt the most thing here among all modules.

Observation:

I observed that I was getting more familiar with Indesign and After Effects, especially InDesign, surprisingly. It was one of my hatest adobe software before this semester and at the beginning of this semester. but now, seriously I know the magic power of InDesign, I think I hate it is because it is so hard to use in the beginning stage as most settings are different from photoshop and Illustrator. But this module, with so many layout exercises and layout attempts throughout the projects, I get to stick to InDesign already. It is good that I have so many attempts and changing with a different layout, the hard work is not wasted.

Findings:

I found myself that I am actually interested and passionate in doing illustrations and animations, I am willing to spend more time in doing these and sacrify other's modules time spent. The happiness I gained when all done is awesome, though it is challenging. I think this is because the visual can be observed the most changes here. I was willing to spend more personal in exploring possibilities in illustrations and animations, learning on youtube tutorials, and I manage to come out with my own style of creating an illustration in this module, I think this is my most satisfied found out in this module. Most importantly I feel that this module has challenged me to not to restrict myself and to learn new things as I move forward.
